Hotel Facilities
The historic Angel Hotel in the center of the Medieval town of Edmunds has been attracting travelers since it opened in 1452, including Charles Dickens who immortalized it as the hostelry where Mr. Pickwick enjoyed an excellent roast dinner and referred to his accommodation as a 'fine room.' It was Number 15 and is preserved exactly as it was more than a century ago. Each bedroom at The Angel is individually decorated and furnished with ensuite bathroom, TV, direct dial telephone, hair dryer and trouser press. The love lavished on it by its owners creates a special ambiance reflected in kudos from all major guides. Bury St. Edmunds, the site of the signing of the Magna Carta, is an hour from East Coast ferry ports and two hours from London. |
