A room for three -- my son, my grandson and myself, I understood that there would be one double bed and a couch which would fold out into a decent bed. However, when we tried to fix the couch for bed, we found there were no linens for that bed. Just two pillows without cases and no sheets. I needed a night close to the airport and the Holiday Inn fit the bill to a T. I was there only the one night but did find that there was nothing to do at all except watch TV. The staff was very courteous and helpful though and my room was all that a hotel room could be for sleeping.

The hotel dining room was very over priced for the meal we ordered. The charge was approximately $10 (US) for the two of us to take a shuttle from the airport to the hotel. I discovered later that the hotel was within walking distance of the airport.

Nice room with comfortable bed and decent television. Not as close to the airport as you would think, you have to take a bus that cost 2pounds 50 one way. Did not seem to have a swimming pool or any other amenities, restaurant had poor hours and was over priced. I would recommend if you could find one a bed and breakfast, cheaper, included breakfast which the Holiday Inn did not, and usually still get a decent room.

The Holiday Inn Gatwick was clean, comfortable and a short bus ride from either the North or South Terminal. The room was clean, beds comfortable and very little airport noise. The only negatives was the fee for the shuttle bus and the poor towel quality. However, these negatives will not prevent us from using the hotel during future visits.

Surprise - The shuttle which you would expect to be a courtesy shuttle from the hotel is actually a regular bus which charges 5 Pounds per person for the short ride to the Holiday Inn. Another surprise - there were no converters available for anyone who comes from America versus Europe. Other than these surprises, the hotel was fine, the room comfy and warm. The bathroom had all the amenities we needed.

With shuttle bus running every 30 minutes (2.50 GBP) connections to and from airport are a breeze. Excellent Room.

Allow lots of time to get to the airport, a bus leaves every 15 minutes but was very full we should have allowed 30 minutes to get to Gatwick airport
