While the location of the hotel was great, there were some areas of disappointment: Shuttle from Hotel to Airport. The hotel website says that there is a shuttle every 30 min hotel. This is true, the problem is that it is on a 1st come, 1st serve basis. So, if there are 6 people or more going to the airport at the same time (a likely scenario given the 114 rooms), you will need to get a cab which is $9 British pounds. The hotel manager said that everyone knows that. Well, not everybody,

It is conveniently located, clean and simple. A good bed to rest between flights. Nothing fancy!

Friendly qnd efficient service; no frills but very clean: People were nice.

The Ibis and Gatwick was a perfect delight for the tired traveller. The rooms were clean and the service was efficient. There is a comfortable eating area - not really a restaurant but a combination bar and seating area that makes for a comfortable, informal atmosphere. The rooms are large by european standards, with TV and computer hook ups in each room. The bathroom was very small, but if you are coming off a cruise, you are already used to that! There is a free bus service to the airport.

Convenient airport hotel
Anonymous, Anchorage, AK Sep 17, 2006

This hotel was a convenient option for flying out early from Gatwick. It was very stylish and the rooms were great -- small but simple and clean. Breakfast was a good buffet with cold cereals, fruit and yogourt and refillable capuccinos. The airport shuttle was fast and curtious, but it cost extra on the way back to the airport. There was no free place to check your emails.

Very friendly, close to the airport, but not so close that you could hear the planes--so I slept well. Small room, but perfect for overnight. Nice breakfast in morning.

Excellent choice close to Gatwick Airport

This was my first stay at an Ibis property and I was very impressed. Check in was quick, rooms were large and neat. An great choice for the American traveler. Sizes of the rooms, the elevators and even beds are more to the custom of the US. Had two meals there at the restuarant onsite and they were excellent. Free shuttle to and from airport. Reasonably priced property. Staff is multi-lingual and friendly. Free daily newspapers.

Great place if you fly out of gatwick
Evelyn, Los Angeles, CA Jun 14, 2006

I only stayed one night but it worked out great! A shuttle picks you up from gatwick and, for a small fee, will drop you off there as well. There is round the clock food and/or snacks available which is great if you get in late like I did. THe rooms are a nice size and the bathrooms are clean. The beds are OK but are good for the affordable rate. The room had cable and the temperature was good too. Had no problems with noise. Would definitely stay here again if I fly in/out of gatwick.

We needed a hotel close to Gatwick Airport. We also needed a handicapped room for me as I had a broken ankle and was in a wheel chair. The Ibis London Gatwick Airport Hotel worked perfectly. The room was clean and tidy and the hotel staff was very helpful in finding us a close place to park our rent a car. The bed was comfortable and the room was large. The handicapped bath room was easy to use and very clean. I would definately stay at this hotel again,if I just needed one night close to th
