Great Old Town Location
This hotel is located 2 blocks from the Royal Mile on Princess Street. It provides easy walking access to all of the many historic sites and museums along the Royal Mile. It is within easy walking distance of Calton Hill (1/4 mile). The restaurant in the hotel has a limited menu that is excellently prepared. Great Location
The Royal British is centrally located for all the restaurants and shops on Princes Street. It is a longer walk and hills to climb for the castle or central old town. The eating options in the evening in the hotel itself seem to be limited to a pub menu. Service was OK but the starter course never came and for dessert, we were told the ice cream was not available due to a freezer malfunction (wondered if that was true or an excuse). Good location
The Royal British Hotel in Edinburgh is in great location within walking distance to most of the Edinburgh attractions. The hotel is older but it has been keep up very well and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again and would recomend it.

Good Location Hotel
The Royal British Hotel in Edinburgh is in a great location for seeing the Edinburgh attractions. The hotel lobby is on the 2nd floor, so with luggage the elevator was very small. The staff at the registration desk were very helpful and pleasant. We were on the top floor, unfortunately no elevator went to that floor, so luggage was a problem, but a staff member did lift the luggage to our room quite quickly.
