  convenience, close to all attractions in NYC
 

Flatotel is in a short walking distance to Time Square, theater district and all the tour bus stops. Planty of restaurants are in the general vacinity. We did not spent time in the hotel to know much of the amenities nor dinning in the hotel. Room that we stayed was fine but out of date. Staffs were helpful and friendly. Services were responsive. Overall, the stay was good, nothing remarkably bad or in-convenient.

  Beware unremodeled suite
 

The Flatotel is in a wonderful midtown location, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the lobby was nice. The hallways on the newly remolded floors looked great. We booked an unimproved one-bedroom suite since we had three adults in our party and needed the extra space. The rooms were large and the couch and chairs were comfortable. The decor was obviously dated, but we expected that. Cleanliness was the major problem. When we pulled out the hide-a-bed, we found that it had not bee

great location but hotel needs updating. management should spend a night in a room to see whats needed. low light levels, drawers broken,doors not closing and much more.

WE had to get another hotel because we could not get past the rudnesss and unprofesional service during check in!!! We lost our money and stayed at another hotel

  too many hazards
 

There are two too many hazards for an enjoyable stay. First, there is a platform bead the side of which projects 5 to 6 inches beyond the side of the mattress, thereby creating a hazard getting into or out of bed. The mattress felt like a gurney. Second, the shower is in what formerly was a spa bath tub. Thus, to enter the tub to shower it is necessary to step way over the side of the tub onto a slippery surface. No grab bar was provided to aid in entering or exiting the tub.
