Unexpectedly Pleased
The hotel was very cute and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. My room was a little small and the halls were very narrow, but a cute, boutique style hotel.

Worth every dollar
The hotel was very appealing from the time that we set foot in the lobby. The staff was very accomodating and friendly. They recommended the Marcel Bar, which is their restaurant that just opened next door. That was wonderful as well: excellent food, good presentation, pleasant staff. The room was very clean, chic decor, and had a nice view of the city. We liked the fact that check out was at noon, though we noticed that the cleaning lady seemend impatient. Reasonable and clean in NYC
The hotel is a well kept secret as the veteran cab driver did not know where it is located. The location is great for my business trips. The room although small was very clean. Good value for the price.

Convenient and Quaint
The Marcel Hotel in NYC is on its way to becoming a very nice boutique style hotel. Although they are involved in ongoing construction/maintenance at this time the rooms, though quite small, are comfortable with great beds; very comfy. There are certainly no extra amenities within the hotel but NYC offers all you need anyway. Staff was very efficient and displayed professional demeanor. Never Again
This was my 2nd stay at the Marcel. I could not believe it was the same hotel. It was under construction to make improvements. Hallways were crammed with beds, carpet was ripped and torn in places and the adjoining restaurant and bar had been recently demolished. Upon unpacking, I realized my room had staging off the window, which was packed with insulation bundles. The air conditioning unit would not work. Worst Hotel in New York
Worst Hotel in New York. I will not recommend to anybody. The room was very small with no amenities. The corridor smells very bad.
